Cookie Policy
Extended notice on the use of cookies
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This Cookie Policy is provided pursuant to the Italian Data Protection Authority's decision of 8 May 2014 and subsequent amendments, and describes the use of cookies by buildhubitalia.com.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to their device (computer, tablet, smartphone), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same websites on the next visit. Cookies can perform various functions: enabling efficient browsing, remembering preferences, improving the browsing experience and providing information to the website operator.
2. Types of cookies used by this website
buildhubitalia.com exclusively uses the following types of cookies:
2.1 Technical cookies
These are cookies essential for the proper functioning of the website. They are used to manage browsing, enable the contact form to be sent and ensure connection security. These cookies do not require user consent under current legislation.
The website is built with static technology (Eleventy static site generator) and does not use dynamic content management systems, databases or server-side sessions: as a result, it does not use persistent session cookies or authentication cookies.
2.2 Analytics cookies
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure traffic and understand in aggregate how the site is used. GA4 installs the _ga, _gid and _gat cookies, with the following duration:
_ga— 2 years (session identifier);_gid— 24 hours (daily session identifier);_gat— 1 minute (request rate limiting).
Analytics cookies are installed only after user consent, expressed through the dedicated banner. Data is collected in aggregate and anonymous form to improve the site; it is not used for user profiling and is retained for a period not exceeding 2 months. Data collection can be limited using Google's anonymize_ip option. For more information: Google's Privacy Policy.
If the user declines consent, no analytics cookies are installed and no traffic measurements are performed.
2.3 Profiling and marketing cookies
This website does not use profiling cookies or cookies for marketing or behavioural advertising purposes. No tracking pixels, social plugins or retargeting tools are present.
3. Third-party services
The website uses the following external services that may collect user data (IP address, user agent) for their technical operation:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — web font service. Requesting fonts involves transmitting the user's IP address to Google's servers. Google does not set cookies for this service. More information.
- Leaflet interactive map with CARTO tiles and OpenStreetMap data — map visualisation service. The map loads tiles from cartocdn.com and data from openstreetmap.org, which receive the user's IP address to deliver content. No cookies are set.
- Nominatim (geocoding) and OSRM (route calculation) — OpenStreetMap services used for the address search functionality on the contact page map. Data entered by the user is transmitted to these services for processing. No cookies are set.
- Cloudflare (CDN and hosting) — content delivery infrastructure of the website. Cloudflare receives the user's IP address to serve pages and ensure connection security. No profiling cookies are set.
- Resend — email delivery service for emails generated by the contact form. Data entered in the form is transmitted to Resend only at the time of submission to deliver the request. No cookies are set.
These services are integrated exclusively for technical purposes and do not involve profiling or tracking of the user. Opening links to external sites, including those of the Data Protection Authority, does not result in the installation of cookies by our website.
4. The consent banner
On the first visit, the website displays a consent banner that allows the user to choose whether to accept or decline the Google Analytics cookies:
- Accept: the analytics cookies described in section 2.2 are installed;
- Decline: no analytics cookies are installed and no traffic measurements are performed.
The choice made is stored on the user's device. Analytics cookies are loaded only after explicit acceptance by the user.
5. How to disable cookies and manage consent
The user may change or withdraw their choice at any time by deleting the site's cookies from the browser settings or clearing browsing data; on the next visit the banner will be shown again. Alternatively, they may write to buildhubitalia@gmail.com.
It is also possible to disable all cookies (including technical ones) through the browser settings. Below are links to guides for the most common browsers:
Please note that disabling technical cookies may impair the proper functioning of the website. For the processing of personal data, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to this Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy may be subject to changes over time. Users are invited to periodically review this page. The date of the last update is indicated at the top of the document.
